Video has emerged on social media showing a Chinese rocket booster falling into a village in southwest China on Saturday.The footage, shared to China's TikTok equivalent Douyin, captures moment the multi-ton booster rocket plummets onto a wooded hillside near what appears to be a residential area and a major thoroughfare.The Long March 2C was launched at 3 p.m. from the Xichang Satellite Launch Center in Sichuan, according to China's space agency.
In December footage uploaded on China's X-like microblogging app Weibo showed a Long March 3B booster crashing down in a village in Guangxi, resulting in a large fireball.Local authorities issued a public notice beforehand, warning of potential falling debris in several areas. No injuries were reported.In another incident, a Long March 5B underwent an uncontrolled reentry into the Earth's atmosphere, the largest object to do so since 1991.
