Los Angeles City Council President Paul Krekorian is calling for an investigation after his office obtained video showing Burbank police officers dropping off a homeless man – described as “severely distressed” – on the sidewalk in front of the councilmember’s district office on Lankershim Boulevard in North Hollywood in an act that city officials described as “inhumane.”

According to Krekorian’s office, video captured from a building camera showed uniformed officers from Burbank removing the man from their vehicle and driving away as the man collapsed on the pavement. The incident occurred on Thursday, June 6 Krekorian is expected to appear at a press conference at City Hall on Friday, June 7, to further discuss the incident.

Krekorian introduced a motion to request that Los Angeles City Attorney Hydee Feldstein Soto, L.A. District Attorney George Gascón and California Attorney General Rob Bonta investigate the incident. According to Krekorian’s office, after the homeless man was dropped off, he was located and offered medical attention.
