The vehicle plunged about 200 feet down from Panoramic Highway on Wednesday afternoon, according to the Sonoma County Sheriff’s Office. Deputy Larry Matelli, a member of the air crew, said a large tree stopped the vehicle from falling further.Two rescuers attached themselves to a 200-foot rescue line and were lowered into the heavily wooded area to retrieve the driver. Matelli said the helicopter hovered just 10 feet above the treetops.
