LimX Dynamics' humanoid showcased human-like agility, lying down and standing up autonomously in a new demo.
LimX Dynamics has taken another leap in humanoid robotics with its latest demonstration of Oli. In a new YouTube video released on October 23, the robotics company showcased two Oli humanoids lying down on the floor and then getting back up autonomously.
The robot is designed for researchers and integrators who wish to speed up the development of humanoid systems. The platform offers joint-level control supporting high-level execution with its SDK and modular build. The humanoid’s new routine has already crossed 182K views at the time of writing this piece.Another achievement in the bagThe 40-second video shows the Oli humanoids standing opposite each other in a LimX laboratory on a square platform with a yellow strip acting as a separator line between them. The humanoid robots started the motion by sitting on the floor with the support of their left arm. They quickly transition to a flat, sleeping position after sitting on the floor.Later, the humanoids got up in a human-like manner, first lifting their legs and using their hip joint to get up and come back to their original standing position.Multiple Oli humanoids are also visible in the video, standing in a line in the background.About the Oli humanoidDeveloped by LimX Dynamics, Oli is a 165 cm humanoid weighing 121 pounds , as stated on the company’s official product page. The robot boasts 31 degrees of freedom , allowing it to perform detailed movements like bending, reaching, and grasping. Its modular build lets users quickly disassemble and customize it for different experiments. Oli is equipped with 3D cameras, LiDAR, and motion sensors that help it understand its surroundings and detect small objects like tennis balls. The robot also connects smoothly via Ethernet and power ports. It supports popular simulation platforms like Python, NVIDIA Issac Sim, and Gazebo. Most of its libraries are delivered via OTA updates, with developers being provided with manuals, case studies, and continuous integration support.Available in three versions, viz. Lite, EDU, and Super, the humanoid’s price starts at around $21,800.A look at the competitionMultiple robotics companies are working on their humanoids to equip them with human-like locomotion and manipulation.Unitree’s G1 humanoid has performed actions like running, weight lifting, and backflips, while also withstanding tough physical blows from testers to showcase its physical robustness.Figure 02 made headlines for doing laundry, washing glasses, and using a dishwasher. Likewise, Oli is known for its graceful dance moves.Revisiting historyIntroduced on July 30 this year as a general-purpose humanoid robot, LimX Dynamics had a group of five Oli humanoids dancing in front of an audience at the World Robotics Conference 2025.Earlier this month, the robot performed a classical dance routine and learnt the art of picking up tennis balls, demonstrating its dexterity and autonomy. Later, it was also seen performing a full-body stretch sequence. In one of its first-ever demo videos, Oli lifted dumbbells at a gym and performed kung-fu moves with a human trainer. As LimX Dynamics continues to enhance Oli’s repertoire, each new demonstration pushes the humanoid closer to human-like agility – leaving the robotics community anticipating what groundbreaking skill might come next.
