PNDbotics unveils Adam-U Ultra, a humanoid robot with VLA AI and 10,000+ data samples, learning new skills in hours.

PNDbotics has unveiled the Adam-U Ultra , a new humanoid robot positioned as a step forward in autonomous manipulation and learning. The system comes preloaded with a vision–language–action large model and more than 10,000 real-world data samples, enabling it to perform complex tasks without extensive setup or calibration.

According to the company, the robot can acquire and deploy new skills within hours rather than days or weeks, highlighting faster adaptation compared with earlier platforms. In August 2025, the Chinese robotics firm debuted its full-sized humanoid, Adam, and its data-collection robot, Adam-U, at the World Artificial Intelligence Conference in Shanghai .Integrated humanoid platformA demonstration video released alongside the announcement shows Adam-U Ultra interacting with objects in real-world environments, offering an early look at its intended capabilities and use cases.Progress in robotics, according to PNDbotics, depends less on increasing complexity and more on tighter integration between hardware and intelligence. The company says this principle guided the development of Adam-U Ultra, its latest humanoid system, which builds on the architecture introduced with the earlier Adam-U platform.Adam-U Ultra features precision, quasi–direct-drive joints designed to improve control, stability, and overall performance. The system is preloaded with a large VLA model trained specifically for the platform, enabling it to perform a broad range of autonomous manipulation tasks immediately after power-on. No additional configuration or calibration is required, the company claims. To support faster real-world deployment, PNDbotics includes more than 10,000 high-quality data samples collected from real robots operating across diverse physical scenarios. These datasets are provided at no additional cost and are intended to reduce the time needed to adapt the robot to new tasks. In a YouTube video, the company also highlights a workflow spanning data collection, model post-training, and deployment, supported by professional post-training services. With minimal task-specific data, new capabilities can reportedly be learned and deployed within hours.According to PNDbotics, Adam-U Ultra is designed for industrial, commercial, and everyday settings and is positioned as a unified, flexible platform for research, education, and industrial robotics.Data-driven humanoidsLast year, PNDbotics debuted its latest humanoid platforms at WAIC 2025, highlighting advances in actuation, control, and data-driven learning. The company presented Adam, a full-sized humanoid designed for dynamic mobility, alongside Adam-U, a data-collection and training platform focused on precise motion capture and manipulation.Adam stands about 1.6–1.7 meters tall and features up to 44 degrees of freedom, driven by QDD actuators that deliver high torque with smooth response. The robot integrates deep reinforcement learning and imitation learning, enabling stable balance, coordinated full-body motion, and human-like movement even without visual input. Its modular mechanical structure, biomimetic torso, and real-time control network are supported by an Intel i7-based control unit that synchronizes limbs with low latency.Adam-U is a stationary humanoid platform developed in partnership with Noitom Robotics and Inspire Robots. Built for AI research and training, it combines Noitom’s motion-capture technology with Inspire’s RH56E2 six-degree-of-freedom dexterous hands. The system offers 31 degrees of freedom, including articulated hands, a multi-DOF waist with braking, a movable head, and binocular vision for human-like perception.Designed to support reinforcement and imitation learning workflows, Adam-U enables tasks such as object manipulation, garment handling, and coordinated movement demonstrations. PNDbotics positions the two platforms as complementary systems, pairing high-fidelity data acquisition with agile humanoid execution to accelerate the development of humanoid robotics.
