A Victorian mother has died following an alleged hit-and-run in Geelong, with her family remembering her as a person with “so much heart”. Tania, 43, was hit by a car at the intersection of Plantation Rd and Washington St, Corio just before 6.45am on August 11. Police allege the driver fled left the scene before officers arrived. Tania was taken to hospital, however, died just after 6pm on Thursday.
“She was a beloved mother, daughter, sister, and aunt. There is no way to express the emotions we are feeling at this time and we ask the public to respect our privacy while the matter is being investigated. “We are so proud that Tania’s last gift was to donate her organs so that others can continue to live their lives.” Police charged an 18-year-old man with dangerous driving causing serious injury, careless driving, failing to stop, failing to render assistance and driving while suspended.
