Victoria has reported another day of high coronavirus cases after breaking the national pandemic record on Thursday.

Melburnians can expect to emerge from lockdown from as early as the middle of next week when the state reaches its first vaccination milestone."You get vaccinated and we will open up, and I do what I say," he said at a brief door stop press conference.

Deputy Chief Health Officer Professor Ben Cowie remained coy when asked if Victorians will be granted freedoms when the state reaches 70 per cent double dosed - expected to be around Thursday - and whether the roadmap could change due to the latest cases."In terms of the impact on the roadmap, there is no way I could possibly hope that I could look at one day's numbers and think of what it means for the roadmap.
