The vandalism was discovered by Victor Harbor RSL sub branch president Kent Johncock on Sunday afternoon when he drove past the Soldiers' Memorial Gardens."To use that setting for political statements is extreme," he said.Mr Johncock said he believed it was the first time in the monument's 70-year history that it had been vandalised.
