The investigation into Vicky White’s apparent suicide continues: The Alabama jailer was found with a gun in her hand, an Indiana sheriff says.
, the coroner’s office has yet to make an official determination.
“The coroner’s office will do an investigation and they will determine if it was a self-inflicted gunshot wound,” Vanderburgh County, Ind. Sheriff Dave Wedding said“The initial indication [is] that it was, but we won’t rule anything out until we have a thorough investigation by the coroner,” Wedding said.
Members of the U.S. Marshals Fugitive Task Force met with the Indiana sheriff’s office on Monday, Wedding said.Casey White was “very short” and began after an officer spotted a vehicle matching one linked to the pair. “They were in a grassy area, so three of our task force members actually rammed the vehicle and pushed it into a ditch, so it ended up on its side,” Wedding said.
“As they approached the vehicle, it was obvious that the female driver was unconscious and still had a weapon in her hand.
