Enterprise held its 2nd annual Veterans Appreciation Community Luncheon on Thursday.

More than 300 people packed the Enterprise Civic Center to honor veterans and active service members. “Today we give thanks to all veterans who served this country honorably during war or peacetime,” Mayor William E. Cooper said. “To our veterans, we owe you our thanks, not just today, but every day. We will continue to recognize you and show you our appreciation.”
During the luncheon, honors for Veteran of the Year and Active Service Member of the Year were given. U.S. Navy retired Aviation Mechanics First Class John Logsdon was named the 2024 Veteran of the Year. Sergeant Major Devon Weber was named 2024 Active Service Member of the Year.Other nominees included U.S. Army retired Chief Warrant Officer 5 Pete Hill, U.S. Army retired Chief Warrant Officer 4 Mark Ivey, U.S. Army retired Chief Warrant Officer 5 Scotty Johnson, U.S. Army retired Command Sergeant Major Gerry Merrihew, and U.S.
