Marlon Vera, Cory Sandhagen headline UFC Fight Night event at AT&T Center

After the UFC announced a bantamweight fight between Marlon Vera and Cory Sandhagen late last year, Sandhagen began to see chatter from fans online.
“People were asking for this fight to be in an arena for a reason,” Sandhagen said. “I know I bring a lot of energy into the cage, I know that Chito brings a lot of energy into the cage, and both of us show up to fight. Neither one of us really lollygags or wants to have a slow-paced fight. Both of us go out there and fight for however long the bell rings for, and that’s what we’re definitely going to do.
Before a fourth-round TKO of Song Yadong last September, Sandhagen had dropped his previous two fights. After losing a split decision to T.J. Dillashaw in a July 2021 bout, with most of the media scoring the fight for Sandhagen, he lost to Petr Yan by decision as a late replacement in October 2021.“He must hit hard, because he doesn't hit people a lot, but when he does hit them, it looks like he does some damage to them,” Sandhagen said. “He’s a very durable guy.
“That was a really awesome part of my career I feel like I haven’t gotten to experience, and now I get to experience it again,” Sandhagen said. “So, I'm really pumped about that.”
