Two members of the Venezuelan prison gang Tren de Aragua, involved in an armed apartment invasion in Aurora , Colorado , were captured in New York City. Denyeer Aramillo Meneses, 23, and Edison Pena Angulo, 25, were detained by an NYPD gang task force and Homeland Security in a raid that uncovered a major credit card scam and drug trafficking operation. The pair was arrested along with 13 other suspected gang members following a six-month investigation into violent gang crimes.
The arrests came after the pair appeared in a viral surveillance video from Aurora, where they were seen beating an apartment complex worker in an extortion attempt. Meneses and Angulo were charged with menacing with a firearm and first-degree burglary in Aurora, and more charges are expected in the upcoming days
