A VENDOR was beaten by Quezon City personnel over an alleged violation of the enhanced community quarantine Tuesday, April 28.

“Any person found to have acted unlawfully or improperly shall be prosecuted to the fullest extent of the law,” the city government said in a statement posted on its Twitter account. It was the third act of violence in Quezon City that is related to the implementation of stringent quarantine protocols to slow the spread of the novel coronavirus, or Sars-CoV-2, which causes the coronavirus disease .

On April 1, 21 residents of Barangay Bagong Pag-asa were arrested after a violent dispersal of residents who had gathered to demand food assistance from the city government. The residents have been released on bail that was paid from donations, mostly from celebrities.
