Police swarmed the San Francisco Chinese consulate late Monday afternoon, after a vehicle crashed into the building.
City officials warned the public to avoid Geary Boulevard and Laguna street late Monday afternoon. There is a large police presence at the Chinese consulate. A source told KTVU a vehicle drove into the building and there has possibly been a shooting.According to a city source, a person drove their car into the Consulate General of the People's Republic of China, located at Laguna and Geary streets.
The source said the driver was shot, but it remains unclear whether the driver was shot by someone else or if the injury was self-inflicted. Witnesses reported seeing a bloodied man being loaded into an ambulance and taken away from the scene. Multiple gunshots were also reported by witnesses.Multiple people were injured Monday afternoon when a San Francisco cable car abruptly came to a stop to avoid colliding with a car.
