VCharge Asia, a Malaysian e-mobility service provider, recently unveiled its next-generation electric vehicle (EV) charging infrastructure at the

International Greentech & Eco Products Exhibition & Conference Malaysia 2023. The new infrastructure will introduce what the company describes as 'high-power' charging stations that cut down the current charging time for EVs significantly.

When VCharge Asia's new charging stations are officially erected, EV owners will be able to recharge their vehicles in just 30 minutes, compared to the current standard of three hours. To put that in another context, and a recharge time reduction of over 80%. “As Malaysia's sustainability industry continues to flourish and gain momentum, the nation is more receptive towards sustainable transportation solutions. With our newly launched charging infrastructure, we are not just increasing charging speed; we are fundamentally reshaping the entire EV experience. We believe that the future of mobility should be fast, convenient, and sustainable.

In addition to a new EV charging infrastructure, VCharge Asia also introduced a new self-titled app that can be used with at said high-power charging stations. “The core of the Vcharge app is to simplify every aspect of EV charging for a user-centric and hassle-free experience. Coupled with our strategic positioning of charging points within city limits to push the EV movement forward, we hope to continue complementing government initiatives to expand coverage along long-distance routes.

As for when VCharge Asia's high-power charging stations will be available, the company says that it has already made a deal with the multiple municipal councils to erect infrastructure in carparks within KL, Putrajaya, Subang Jaya, and Petaling Jaya, starting next year. At the same time, it also plans on to have the same chargers available in East Malaysia and more specifically, in Miri within the state of Sarawak, before making plans for other cities in the state.
