A report on the Vanity Fair Oscar Party 2026, highlighting the silver aesthetic, celebrity sightings, fashion statements, and after-party moments. Notable attendees included Larry David, Julia Fox, Kylie Jenner, Timothée Chalamet, and Al Pacino.
If the Academy Awards themselves were defined by gold, then the 2026 Vanity Fair Oscar Party was defined by silver. The carpet was lined with metallic mirrors; inside was a platinum carpet and a reflective bar, an aesthetic nod to the concrete structure of LACMA.
The only pops of color came from the creamy white furniture laid artfully throughout—reminiscent of the furniture at Mortons, the original location of the Vanity Fair Oscar Party. Jonathan Becker famously captured Fran Lebowitz lounging across one of those couches, with her feet up, in 2000. Larry David—there he was!—was sitting on one of them now, talking to Marty Supreme director Josh Safdie. Judd Apatow walked past him, holding his wife Leslie Mann’s bag. Across the bar, James Murdoch was in deep conversation with Andrew Ross Sorkin. His ex-stepmother Wendi Murdoch was several feet away. Then I got distracted by something shiny: a large pin on Jane Fonda’s lapel reading “Block the Merger.” With all due respect to the starlets arriving in just-off-the-runway Chanel or Armani, that might have been the boldest fashion statement seen in the room tonight. Outside there was a power posse in Hannah Einbinder, Robby Hoffman, and their friends all eating In-N-Out burgers under a heat lamp. Tonight it was a tough culinary call between eating classic LA fast food, Domino’s pizza, or cacio e pepe from Funke. I ran into Julia Fox at the bar. She was eating a piece of Domino's pizza, while wearing a Viktor & Rolf dress with comically high straps that reached her ears, like a modern-day Elizabethan collar. The Uncut Gems star is known for her wild VF Oscar Party looks, like a bag she wore one year that was entirely made of human hair. She seemed surprised I was interested in her look this year—compared to everything else, it was demure! “I’m 36! Gotta put some clothes on!” she said, laughing. Behind me, a starlet asked what was in a giant ice bucket in front of us. “It’s mini bottles of Don Julio 1942,” I replied. Her eyes widened and she snorted: “Oh, I can’t have that. I’d be on my ass.” With my glass of Champagne in hand, I passed best friends Nicole Kidman and Naomi Watts deep in conversation. And there were Lauren Sánchez Bezos and Jeff Bezos; she told the Amazon founder that he kept stepping on her dress. By 10 p.m., the celebrities who attended the Oscars finally began to arrive. Oscar host Conan O’Brien walked off the red carpet and ran into Damson Idris, who congratulated O’Brien on a job well-done. The comedian appeared genuinely touched. Teyana Taylor danced in, giving a warm hug to her All’s Fair costar Kim Kardashian. Not far behind was Kardashian’s sister Kendall Jenner, arriving with Hailey Bieber. By 11 p.m., it was time for another high-profile KarJenner arrival: Kylie Jenner, in a plunging McQueen dress with a feather train, walking the red carpet hand-in-hand with Timothée Chalamet. They were swarmed with well-wishers when they arrived. Kaia Gerber got introduced to Love Story’s Paul Anthony Kelly outside, and soon they were chatting about their respective Ryan Murphy shows. Zoe Saldaña walked on by, In-N-Out burger in hand. Callum Turner and Dua Lipa were there, looking oh so in love. But when do they not? As the clock ticked well past midnight, the night’s biggest winners continued to roll in —including Michael B. Jordan, who got a warm welcome from Odessa A’zion. For those who rolling out, chilly guests were offered sozni pashmina shawls by Swadesh and Gnarwhal Coffee & Donuts as they waited to depart. Inside, a waiter approached the bar, asking the bartender to check for cigarettes she could hand out to guests. They told her they were out. She implored them to check again: “We’re never out of cigarettes,” she said. And for one night, they weren’t.
