Vanessa Feltz was rushed to hospital after being doubled over in 'extraordinary pain' following a family lunch, and had to undergo emergency surgery
Vanessa Feltz was rushed into surgery after being taken to hospital in "extraordinary pain" which she says was worse than childbirth. The veteran presenter and This Morning regular took to her Instagram on Monday morning to update her followers from her hospital bed, sharing the details of the terrifying episode.
"Normally, I am quite a trooper with this stuff.... I normally could be ill and I'll take couple paracetamol and just rock on. But there was no way I could, I just couldn't. So anyway, luckily managed to get seen at hospital quite quickly, thank God, because I was just in agony. I couldn't sit down, I couldn't lie down, I didn't know what to do.
If left untreated, they can lead to can lead to "kidney infections or the kidney not working properly".After being scanned in hospital, Vanessa was told she'd need surgery to remove the stone because it was so large. She said they they had to "nuke it with a laser, they had to blast the stone because it was so big, they couldn't have got it out any other way."
