Bath head coach Johann van Graan has roped in a seasoned campaigner with ties to South Africa as injury cover for the start of the 2022-23 season.

Veteran lock Quinn Roux links up with the English Premiership club after Charlie Ewels was confirmed to have severely injured his knee while on international duty with England.

Born in South Africa, Roux won the 2012 Vodacom Cup with Western Province and earned Super Rugby caps for the Stormers before switching to Leinster for two seasons. His time in Dublin began a seven-year stint in Irish rugby mostly spent in Galway at Connacht, where he made over 100 provincial appearances and was capped 16 times for Ireland.
