TheVampireDiaries star Kat Graham reveals whether she would ever consider playing Bonnie Bennett again: 'I feel like I spent more time as a character than I spent as myself.'

The Vampire Diaries star Kat Graham opens up about whether she would ever return to her role after she portrayed the character Bonnie Bennett for eight years. Graham is an American actress, singer, and dancer, who distributes music under the stage name Toro Gato. She began her career appearing in commercials and music videos. By 1998, she made her film debut in The Parent Trap alongside Lindsay Lohan. In 2002, she made her TV debut on the Disney Channel original series Lizzie McGuire.

By 2007, Graham nabbed her most recognizable role as Bonnie in the CW's The Vampire Diaries. The series follows Elena Gilbert , a newly orphaned teenage girl who gets caught up in a love triangle with two vampire brothers. Graham portrays Bonnie, Elena's best friend, who later becomes the show's female lead following Dobrev's exit after season 6. Graham portrayed the role of Bonnie for eight years, all the way until The Vampire Diaries ended in 2017.

I mean, eight years, you know eight years of my life. I feel like I spent more time as a character than I spent as myself. I'm still that girl that was running around rogue, trying to play gigs and, I finally feel like, with especially all the films that I have -- five films out this year, it's my second album I'm dropping this year, I feel like I'm almost playing catchup in a weird way as an artist.

Graham's decision to not return to her Vampire Diaries role is pretty understandable. While reboots and revivals are becoming more and more popular, not every actor is willing to reprise their roles. Actors from Daniel Radcliffe and Keanu Reeves to Dylan and Cole Sprouse have refused to reprise some of their most iconic roles for sequels, reboots, or spin-offs.

Meanwhile, the likelihood of there even being a Vampire Diaries reboot is pretty slim. The show reached a natural conclusion in 2017, and there haven't been any concrete plans to revive it. Instead, the franchise has produced spinoff shows such as The Originals and Legacies. Still, some fans do hold out hope that The Vampire Diaries may reboot, or even still air a season 9 simply due to the show's vast popularity.
