The latest Valorant patch brings big nerfs to Neon and the ping system that will have a major impact on your matchmaking games.
Riot Games has released the patch notes for Valorant update 9.11, and the biggest changes come in the form of a major nerf to Neon, some smaller changes to Vyse and a big rework of the ping system.are now available and, as expected, feature a nerf to Neon in an effort to bring her power levels down a bit. Neon has been a top teir agent in Valorant for some time now, and was certainly in need of some changes.
The biggest change, on paper at least, comes to her High Gear slide, which is going from having two charges down to just one. Her accuracy while sliding also gets changed from the standard full accuracy to crouch walking accuracy. This is designed to make you think more about when to use one of the most powerful bits of her kit, as well as making it harder for her to beam opponents from across the map.
Neon’s other change comes to her ultimate, Overdrive. The duration has been halved, going from 20 seconds to just 10, and the cost has gone up from seven points to eight. This might seem like a much bigger nerf, but given how little her ult is used compared to the slide, I think the former change is going to be more impactful..
This change to the ping system is likely to have a major impact on lower level public matches, where it was always quite easy to inform your team of where someone was on the map by pinging the nearest wall even if you couldn’t see them. Now with smokes blocking the way, that is going to be much harder to communicate to others.also feature team death match changes and a couple of bug fixes that are worth checking out if you want the full picture of the coming update.
