LAPD Deputy Chief Jorge Rodriguez said police had taken a man into custody about 2:30 p.m., but had not yet determined if it was Gerry Zaragoza.
The Los Angeles Police Department was engaged in an intense manhunt for a 26-year-old man wanted in connection to a series of shootings Thursday that killed four people and wounded two others.
Patrol officers in tactical gear have blocked off a large swath near Victory and Woodley as detectives and forensics experts combed through the latest scene for evidence. The department blasted Zaragoza’s photo across social media in the hopes that someone would spot him and call law enforcement.“We are asking the public to be vigilant and be on the lookout for the man whose photos we released,” Rodriguez said. “He is armed and dangerous, call the police immediately if you see him.
When police arrived they found a man and a woman suffering from gunshot wounds. The woman, who has not been identified, died at a hospital. The man remains in critical condition.
