The Vallejo Police Department is investigating the Friday night homicide of an unsheltered man. This is the 11th homicide in the City of Vallejo in 2022.
At approximately 9:56 p.m., VPD officers responded to the report of a shooting occurring in a homeless encampment at the 2400 Block of Sacramento Street, according to a news release sent out Saturday. The release says that “upon arrival, officers located two adult victims each suffering from at least one gunshot wound. Both victims were transported to local hospitals for medical treatment.”
The male victim, a 57-year-old unhoused member of Vallejo, was pronounced deceased at the hospital by medical personnel. The 46-year-old female victim is currently being treated. Her current medical prognosis has not been determined.
