The local government of Valenzuela City is preparing for the coming school year by launching an online-based education system to benefit learners as they adapt to the measures implemented amid the coronavirus disease (COVID-19) pandemic.
In a bid to bring the “classroom feel” to its students, the city has partnered with the local office of the Department of Education as they launched the “Valenzuela Live Online Streaming School” where teachers conducting classes inside a classroom are pre-recorded and uploaded online.
The local government has prepared learning packets including modules, worksheets, and study guides “designed for the most essential learning competencies of students.” The materials will either be distributed through door-to-door delivery or through pick-up at the nearest city service centers. Gatchalian recently told the Manila Bulletin that they have earmarked P69 million for the purchase of tablet devices that will be lent to students who cannot afford to buy such gadgets. The tablets will be used by students to watch video lessons
