Boston Mills opened daily last week with limited hours due to staffing shortages. Those hours and days of operation will change as Vail opens its other two Greater Cleveland locations for the season, the company announced on its website and social media.

Boston Mills opened daily last week with limited hours due to staffing shortages. Those hours and days of operation will change as Vail opens its other two Greater Cleveland locations for the season,This week, Boston Mills will be open 3:30 p.m. to 9:30 p.m. through Thursday, 4 p.m. to 10 p.m. on Friday, and 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. on Saturday and Sunday. But Boston Mills will be closed on Mondays and Tuesdays, beginning next Monday, Jan. 17.

Once Brandywine opens on Friday, the resort will operate from 4 p.m. to 10 p.m. on weekdays, and 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. on weekends. Brandywine is located about 3 miles away from Boston Mills in the Cuyahoga Valley, south of Cleveland Alpine, located near Chesterland east of Cleveland, will be open three days a week — from 3:30 to 9 p.m. on Fridays, and 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. on Saturdays and Sundays.are having trouble filling jobs advertised as $11.25 an hour.

Tim Harris, Vice President of Vail Resorts’ midwest locations, said they’re trying to staff what are normally the busiest times. “I know this will be disappointing news to some, but fact is we are dealing with the same challenges that have affected many other businesses across the country and around the world,” Harris said when Boston Mills opened. “We’ve also been hit by the nationwide staffing shortages and impacts of COVID-19. We simply don’t have enough employees right now required to operate the resort safely at the hours we have kept in previous years.
