At least a dozen employees of the U.S. Department of Veterans Affairs (VA) improperly accessed medical records of Sen. JD Vance and Gov. Tim Walz this summer, according to The Washington Post. The unauthorized viewing was carried out by employees at the agency's Veterans Health Administration and involved a physician and a contractor, among others.

A source familiar with the matter shared with The National News Desk a message sent to VA employees on August 30, reminding them that "veteran VA Press Secretary Terrence Hayes told TNND Monday the department "reported to law enforcement allegations that VA personnel may have improperly accessed Veteran records."
