The material was released by order of a judge. News organizations had sued to make the information public.
The city of Uvalde released on Saturday previously undisclosed police bodycam video, 911 calls, radio communications and other records related to the 2022 mass shooting at Robb Elementary School . A team of journalists for the San Antonio Express-News , the Houston Chronicle and ABC News are reviewing the records and will post their findings here through the afternoon. The release, at noon Saturday, was in response to a lawsuit by the Express-News, the Chronicle, ABC and other news organizations.
Laura Prather of the Austin firm Haynes Boone, the lead lawyer for the plaintiffs, said the city is releasing nearly 21 gigabytes of information, including footage from five police officers' body-worn cameras, dashcam video, 911 calls, radio communications, documents and text messages. In June 2023, a different judge ordered the Texas Department of Public Safety to release pertinent records to the news organizations. DPS is appealing that ruling.
