UTSA product Spencer Burford selected by San Francisco 49ers in fourth round of NFL draft
UTSA corner back Tariq Woolen makes Rice tight end jack Bradley pay the price after a reception. UTSA defeated Rice 45-0 on Saturday, Oct. 16, 2021 at the Alamodome.Burford was one of the starters at left tackle in the Senior Bowl and participated in the NFL combine, posting a 5.19-second time in the 40-yard dash, a 27.5-inch vertical jump and an 8-9 broad jump. He put up 26 repetitions on the bench press at UTSA’s pro day, also improving to 29 inches in the vertical and 8-11 on broad jump.
Though an arm injury sidelined him for the final four games of the Roadrunners’ regular season this year, Woolen finished with 25 tackles, 2.5 tackles for loss, an interception and five passes broken up. He also played part of the 2020 season in a cast after suffering a broken arm. In 11 games, he totaled 35 tackles, 2.5 tackles for loss, 1.5 sacks, an interception and four pass breakups.
