Lucas Dean is back for another year in a standout career as UTSA's punter, but the Roadrunners will be looking for a new kicker.

He dropped 19 of his 41 kicks inside the 20-yard line and broke his own program record with a 76-yard boot against Texas Southern. Redshirt freshman Tate Sandell, from Port Neches-Groves, appeared to be next in line during the spring. He has yet to attempt a field goal with the Roadrunners but shared kickoff duties with Sackett for stretches of 2022.“We’ve been pleased with it. is a heck of an athlete,” Traylor said. “We have another kicker coming in this summer, so we’re going to compete with that. But he’s looked really good so far. We're proud of him. He's a competitor. Does not lack for confidence.
