Coaches say the effort will help make the program visible to potential recruits too.

SAN ANTONIO — Football is the king of all college sports, and at most universities around the country it effectively functions as its own standalone entity.

" Dr. Lisa Campos and Dr. Taylor Eighmy really view athletics as the front porch of the university," said Sean Cartell, senior associate athletics director. The athletic department's funds helped build two control rooms that will help produce broadcasts for men's and women's basketball, baseball, softball, volleyball and soccer.

Coaches are excited about the effort, as it means more exposure for UTSA—a huge asset when it comes to recruiting.
