Utes quarterback Cam Rising set to return vs. Arizona State, according to a new report.
Cam Rising is set to return for No. 16 Utah’s matchup vs Arizona State at 8:30 p.m. MT on Friday in Tempe, Arizona, according to a report from Action Network’s Brett McMurphy.. Rising hasn’t played since Sept. 7 vs. Baylor, when he injured the ring finger on his throwing hand, requiring stitches. Rising has missed Utah’s last 3 gamesRising has missed the last three games with a right-hand injury he suffered against Baylor on Sept.
The report comes after Utah head coach Kyle Whittingham offered Utah fans a glimmer of hope on ESPN 700 earlier this week. “We will see what happens this week with Cam,” Whittingham said. “We’re hoping , and I think it’s looking encouraging, but I’m not going to say anything until we actually get to the game.”
In his two appearances under center in 2024, Rising is 18-of-29 for 346 passing yards, seven touchdowns and one interception. If he does step onto the field, it’ll be a major boost for Utah’s offense which ranks 10th in the Big 12 in total offense and third in thrown interceptions.
