Heightened immigration enforcement under President Donald Trump’s administration has sent a wave of anxiety over the Ute Indian Tribe and others across the country, where Indigenous citizens fear they could be profiled.
Parents living on the Northern Ute reservation are coaching their children to memorize their tribal ID numbers in case they are stopped by immigration officers.
