Utah State Hall of Famer Robert Turbin will be back at Maverik Stadium this weekend as the Aggies take on UNLV, as an analyst for CBS Sports Network.
Seattle Seahawks running back Robert Turbin tosses a football as he warms up before NFL football practice, Friday, Dec. 27, 2019, in Renton, Wash. Back when the former Utah State running back was still in college, Turbin wanted to move out of the dorms on campus and into a new place in Logan.“I lived there because of its name,” Turbin recalled this week. “I didn’t care how nice the apartment was or the whatever.
Turbin played for the Aggies from 2007-11 before spending a seven-year NFL career playing for the Seattle Seahawks, Cleveland Browns, Dallas Cowboys and Indianapolis Colts. He also has the longest running play ever in USU history — a 96-yard touchdown against the University of Utah. “Utah State supported my dream of being a running back,” Turbin said. “There were other schools that were interested in me, but they wanted me for the defensive side of the ball, which was OK. But my dream was to be Barry Sanders.”
