Utah’s annual Pride Festival has been postponed due to severe weather, Salt Lake City Police said in a tweet Saturday afternoon.

The National Weather Service issue a severe thunderstorm warning for Salt Lake City through 1:30 p.m.

The Pride flag is raised at Washington Square by Salt Lake City and LGBTQ+ leaders, marking the beginning of Pride Month on Thursday, June 1, 2023.has been postponed due to severe weather, Salt Lake City Police said in a tweet Saturday afternoon. The National Weather Service issued a severe thunderstorm warning for Salt Lake City, Millcreek and Taylorsville until 1:30 p.m. on Saturday, with hail and a tornado possible. A spokesperson for Salt Lake City Police said the Utah Pride Center evacuated the event due to the potential of severe weather.The chance of showers and thunderstorms is expected to continue through the evening, with a 20 percent chance of thunderstorms on Sunday afternoon.
