SALT LAKE CITY — A storm that is bringing snow, rain and cold temperatures to nearly all of Utah has become a record-breaker in one area.The Salt Lake City office of the National Weather Service reported it has seen .70" of precipitation at its location, which broke the old daily record of .45" set in 1918.
As of noon, Utah Highway Patrol reported troopers responded to 79 crashes and counting as weather pounded down on the roads. State Road 210 through Little Cottonwood Canyon has been closed for avalanche mitigation with the expectation it will reopen at 3 p.m. — UDOT Cottonwood Canyons February 7, 2024 Provo Canyon will also have intermittent closures between Glen Canyon Park and Vivian Park for avalanche control between 3 and 4 p.m. Wednesday.
