He’s one of many firefighters from Utah who are ready to help when the call comes. The wildfire has already consumed large areas, with gusting winds expected to make the situation worse.
Prokopis, who has been on nearly two dozen wildfire deployments, says firefighters have a saying: “You risk a lot to save a lot.”Thousands of residents have been ordered to evacuate from the Palisades area, and bulldozers are clearing abandoned vehicles so firefighters can reach the front lines.
