State health data shared this week showed slowing COVID-19 case counts and hospitalizations in Utah, with most of the state showing “low” and “medium” community transmission levels.

Salt Lake County reported six deaths — two men ages 45-64, a woman age 65-84, and two woman and a man 85 or older. In Utah County, officials reported the deaths of two women and a man ages 65-84 and a man 85 or older.And Cache, Sanpete and Wasatch counties each reported the death of a single male resident between the ages of 65-84. Washington County also reported one death — a woman 85 or older.As of Thursday, 166 Utahns were hospitalized with COVID-19 — two fewer than the previous week. There were 20 patients in intensive care Thursday, four fewer than reported last Thursday.
Counting all test results, including repeated tests of the same individual, 15.7% of the tests conducted came back positive, compared with 18.27% at this point last week.
