The University of Texas at Austin held a symposium Tuesday dedicated to understanding and utilizing artificial intelligence. The event featured panels with professionals from various fields discussing the potential benefits and risks of AI in healthcare, education, energy, national security, and the workforce.

Sinclair teamed up with Salvation Army to provide critical relief to communities picking up the pieces left behind by Hurricane Helene. The University of Texas at Austin held its “Year of AI” symposium Tuesday. University President Jay Hartzell declared 2024 the “Year of AI” earlier this year and now the university is seeking to understand and utilize the technology.

“Just as we've seen in the past, there is promise and there is peril,” said UT-Austin Professor Sherri Greenberg. “We must be equipped. We must look at the skills we need, whether it's upskilling or reskilling, for the future,” said Greenberg, who moderated many of the day’s panels. “I want to offer that from our perspective, the ‘A’ could stand for ‘access,’ and the ‘I’ could stand for ‘inclusion,’” he said.“And that would free up our people to do what people do best, to earn trust, to really meet people where they are,” he said.
