Music by Ye, the rapper formerly known as Kanye West, might soon be banned by the University of Texas at Austin at the school's sporting events.
The move to consider a ban on Ye's music comes in the wake of the artist's blatant support for Hitler, Nazis, and Balenciaga, along with his recent slew of antisemitic remarks.UT's student government passed a resolution last month calling on the school's administration to ban Ye's music to show support for the school's Jewish community, per the university's student-run newspaper.
"Football and sports is something that brings us all together," university-wide representative Alexander Feinstein said."We should all feel safe there, and we should all feel that it’s a comforting place."An official decision by the university pertaining to the student resolution has yet to be released.
