“We just started a business administration program at the bachelor’s level, which is the first time in the history of the institution that we have a degree program outside of sport education,” said Spradley. “So we’re excited about that and so I basically oversee those programs and work with that faculty and staff to make sure that our student athletes are getting the best education.”
Dr Spradley also teaches at USSA. He says most of the teachers are former student athletes and that the majority of students on campus are student athletes. Spradley says they teach students how their career goes beyond what they do on the field, court on track. “That could be anything from athletic administrators such as athletic directors at the high school and college level even getting to be a general manager for a professional sports team,” said Spradley. “We’ve even had a lot of our graduates go to the Olympic level, whether that’s coaching, athletic administration and so anything you can think of in terms of business, it can be related to sport.”
