Sailors aboard the USS Cole were greeted with tears and cheers as the ship returned to its home port of Naval Station Norfolk in Virginia on Monday, December 23rd, 2024. The sailors, who had been deployed for over seven months, were met by jubilant family and friends eager to welcome them home before Christmas .
Emotional reunions were captured as loved ones embraced their returning service members, including a heartwarming first kiss between Fire Controlman Second Class Caleb Smith and his wife, Eden Smith.
