R&B star Usher, in the midst of an acclaimed Las Vegas residency, will perform at the NFL's championship game on Feb. 11 at Vegas' Allegiant Stadium.
Usher’s Super Bowl performance will be the fifth halftime show overseen by Roc Nation following February’s appearance by Rihanna, last year’swith Dr. Dre, Snoop Dogg, Eminem, Mary J. Blige and Kendrick Lamar and earlier performances by the Weeknd and the duo of Shakira and Jennifer Lopez.
Jay-Z’s partnership with the NFL raised eyebrows when it was announced given the rapper’s past pronouncements about the league in the wake of its treatment of former San Francisco 49ers quarterback Colin Kaepernick, who accused the NFL of blackballing him as a result of his kneeling during the national anthem to protest police violence and racial injustice.
