The university said it was unable to find another hotel on short notice after requesting a change from bowl organizers to avoid crossing the picket line. Coaches and players have been staying at Virgin Hotels this week for the upcoming SRS Distribution Las Vegas Bowl, despite The Culinary Union launched a hospitality worker strike and round-the-clock picket last month, saying Virgin Hotels leadership refuses to offer raises comparable to those negotiated with other resorts.
