COVID-19 cases have been surging throughout the country, and in Louisiana, due to the highly transmissible Delta variant.The United States has hit yet another grim milestone in its battle against the coronavirus with a reported more than 40 million COVID-19 cases.
As of Tuesday morning, the nation had logged a total of 40,019,441 confirmed coronavirus cases, as well as 649,168 virus-related deaths, according to data compiled by Johns Hopkins University.
