The U.S. Department of State over the weekend issued a worldwide security alert to warn Americans to be cautious about threats from groups linked to Iran.

Iran's Supreme Leader, Ayatollah Ali Khamenei, was confirmed killed after the United States and Israel launched a joint attack on Iran on February 28. Iran retaliated by firing waves of missiles and drones at Israel, and targeting U.S. allies in the region. The U.S. Department of State over the weekend issued a worldwide security alert to warn Americans to be cautious about threats from groups linked to Iran. “The Department of State advises Americans worldwide, and especially in the Middle East, to exercise increased caution. Americans abroad should follow the guidance in security alerts issued by the nearest U.S. embassy or consulate,”This statement comes just two days after Iranian Brigadier General Abolfazl Shekarchi warned that U.S. and Israeli officials wouldn’t be safe following strikes that wiped out Iran’s leadership, including former Supreme Leader Ayatollah Ali Khamenei. “From now on, based on the information we have about you, even parks, recreational areas and tourist destinations anywhere in the world will no longer be safe for you,”The U.S. and Israel last month conducted joint strikes on Iran last month due to concerns that the Middle Eastern country had missiles.“Periodic airspace closures may cause travel disruptions.
