More than 1,800 minors died, the Gun Violence Archive found, with the number of cases reaching a high level in 2020 and staying steady afterward. In the decade through 2019, there were an average of 13.5 million guns sold each year. In 2020, there were 22 million guns sold, and in 2021, nearly 19 million. One possible reason: the uncertainty so many people faced.
