Three Republican incumbent U.S. House members in South Carolina are facing primary challengers in 2024, including Mace, who is seeking a third term with the backing of Donald Trump . in 2022 is just one of many ways Mace has attracted a spotlight far greater than a typical second-term member of Congress.
Templeton argues that by seeming to land everywhere, Mace is nowhere. Templeton promises to be a more reliable Republican voice in the U.S. House. Timmons' divorce — and a widely shared Instagram post by a husband who said Timmons had an affair with his wife — has complicated his reelection bid. Timmons has denied the allegations and asked for privacy.
Gov. McMaster endorsed longtime friend and nurse practitioner Sheri Biggs in her first run for political office. Trump's backing went to Mark Burns, a Black pastor who has backed Trump since before his first race for president. His opponent is Hamp Redmond, a contractor who said he decided to run because of Wilson's “Ukraine first” policy.
