The U.S. Park Police officer injured during an ambush style-shooting in Southeast D.C. on Monday night has been released from the hospital.
A U.S. Park Police officer was shot in Southeast Washington, D.C., and was taken to a hospital in critical condition The officer had been recovering at MedStar after being flown to the hospital in non-life threatening condition after the shooting.
The shooting happened around 7:30 p.m. in the 5000 block of Queens Stroll Place Southeast while the officer was working undercover. He was sitting inside an unmarked white Tesla when two people opened fire while he was driving, ambushing him, USPP said. He was the only officer in the car.Southeast near its intersection with Southern Avenue.
