US Marines’ 3rd Marine Littoral Regiment inducts NMESIS, a new missile system capable of targeting enemy ships up to 115 miles away.

The 3rd Marine Littoral Regiment , part of the 3rd Marine Division, has officially received the Navy-Marine Expeditionary Ship Interdiction System , a new ground-based missile launcher designed to target enemy ships.

“With the introduction of the NMESIS, 3d MLR dramatically boosts its sea denial capabilities,” stated Lt. Col. Timothy W. Love, the regiment’s commanding officer. “The NMESIS equips us with a powerful sea denial capability, which is crucial for our mission to target enemy maritime threats. This advance greatly enhances our capacity to collaborate with the Marine Air-Ground Task Force and our partners.”

The Global Positioning System , inertial sensors, and terrain reference systems assist navigation and provide the NMESIS with sophisticated targeting capabilities.
