Inflation continued to rise at its fastest pace in a generation in the US last month after petrol prices surged in the wake of Russia’s invasion of Ukraine
America’s consumer price index rose 8.5 per cent in March, an annual rate not seen since December 1981, as rising rent and food costs also drove it higher.It comes as the Federal Reserve moves more aggressively to combat inflation, raising interest rates last month and preparing to start shedding assets from its balance sheet.
