US helicopter raid leads to 'probable' death of ISIS leader
The ISIS leader and operational planner, who was not named, was responsible for planning terror attacks in the Middle East and Europe, according to CENTCOM."The raid resulted in the probable death of the targeted individual," the Department of Defense's command said, adding that two other armed people were killed in the raid.
"Though degraded, ISIS remains able to conduct operations within the region with a desire to strike beyond the Middle East," said Gen. Michael"Erik" Kurilla, CENTCOM commander."We will continue the relentless campaign against ISIS."
